How to make Oven Baked Potato Skins with simple ingredients

Ingredients
  

  • 8 russet potatoes
  • 2 TBSP butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar jack cheese
  • 6 slices cooked and crumbled bacon
  • Sour cream for topping
  • Fresh sliced green onions for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Scrub the potatoes and poke several holes throughout.
  • Bake these right on your oven grates, or on a baking rack, for 40 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, and allow the potatoes to cool.
  • Melt the 2 tbsp. of butter by microwaving in a microwave safe bowl for 30 second increments.
  • Scoop out the insides of the potatoes, and brush both sides with the melted butter. Season with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Return these to the oven to bake for about 15 minutes to crisp up the skins.
  • Add your shredded cheese and cooked bacon, and bake again for about 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
  • Top with sour cream and green onions, or your other toppings you like, and enjoy!
