Notes:
- Melting white chocolate: Place the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 10-second intervals, stirring well after each one, until fully melted and smooth. White chocolate melts quickly and can scorch easily, so go slow and stir often.
- Avoid overbaking: Be careful not to overbake the bars. Even a few extra minutes in the oven can cause them to turn dry and crumbly instead of soft and tender.
- Optional flavor boost: For an extra layer of flavor, add a little orange zest to the cream cheese frosting and/or the batter. This step is optional, but the subtle citrus notes pair beautifully with cranberries and really elevate the final result.
Can you make these cranberry bliss bars gluten free?
Yes, you can make these gluten free. All you have to do is, swap the all purpose flour to a gluten free baking flour mix. I would recommend Bob’s Red Mill gluten free 1-1 baking flour.
How to store the cranberry bliss bars?
Once the bars are sliced, place them in an airtight container and store them in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Can you freeze the cranberry bars?
Yes you can. Prepare them and slice as directed and then place the bars in the refrigerator for at least a couple of hours. Then cover tightly in a container with plastic wrap and freeze up to 3 months. Thaw the bars in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
